Who we are
On June 10th, 2015, a new foundation called “Fundacion Servicio Laboratorio Medico Aruba” (FSLMA) was established. The foundation’s main purpose is to support the Horacio Oduber Hospital and healthcare providers in the areas of medical laboratory services for patient care. Furthermore, the foundation also supports public health services by providing medical laboratory testing targeted for those areas. As of January 1st, 2016 FSLMA, also known as “LABHOH”, took over all the activities of the former Public Health Laboratory, formerly known as “Landslaboratorium”.
LABHOH has four main departments; the Pre-Analysis (blood collection), the Clinical Chemistry & Haematology, the Microbiology & Infection Serology, and the Pathology department.
As of July 2019, LABHOH Microbiology department is NEN-EN-ISO 15189:2012 accredited and is has expanded its services with test centers for all types of COVID-19 tests.
Our Mission: LABOH strives to be an expert in diagnostics that supports the medical care around the patient right diagnostics at the right time and thereby promotes top quality and efficiency of care.
Our vision: We do this in a professional manner: knowledgeable, friendly, and customer-oriented. We strive for a pleasant working climate and encourage each other to be better every day than the day before. To achieve this, the continuous improvement of the quality system is an important pillar.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the foundation LABHOH is formed by the Board of Directors of the foundation “Stichting Ziekenverpleging Aruba – SZA”.
Board of Supervisory
The Board of Supervisors of the foundation LABHOH is formed by the Board of Supervisors of the foundation SZA. The actual Supervisors are F.W. (Frank) Ho-Kang-You, M. Arlene Ellis-Schipper, Jacinto F. (Freddy) Feliciana, Hose B. Th. (Jossy) Figaroa, J.A. (Jan) Segers, Angeline S. Tromp-Zievinger and Anthony G. Croes.
