The Pre-analysis department has 5 collection sites across the island with the main location at Horacio Oduber Hospital, Oranjestad, Ponton, Piedra Plat, and San Nicolas. The majority of our collection sites open at 06.30 for blood collection or to deliver samples (i.e. urine, feces, pap smears, etc.).

Appointments are not necessary. Just make sure you have all the necessary documents. Some tests require you to be fasting. The reason for this is that tests like glucose and triglycerides can increase drastically once you’ve had something to eat, which might lead to your physician drawing the wrong conclusion. Fasting implies that you are not allowed to drink, eat, or smoke after 22:00 prior to the sample collection. You are however allowed to drink water. Sample collection from fasting patients takes place during the morning hours.
