Outsourced Tests

As the reference medical laboratory of Aruba, LABHOH offers a complete scope of laboratory tests. The more complex tests tend to be costly to set up in terms of facilities, equipment/reagent and personnel. At the same time, if the workload is not enough to justify the investments we must collaborate with reference laboratories abroad. By outsourcing certain tests, we can focus on our core competencies and primary areas of expertise. Therefor leading to improved quality and accuracy and increased cost effectiveness overall.

Guidelines for submitting material

For details of the required materials, see vademecum. Logistics of outsourced material to the Netherlands is scheduled on weekdays on Mondays and Wednesdays before 11 am. Not on holidays.

This is in collaboration with Central Laboratory Services by SGS Netherlands specialists in logistics of laboratory materials considering temperature control packaging and accelerated turnaround times.

Certain tests must be send on dry ice and are send monthly with longer turnaround times for reporting results.

Results

The results of majority of tests are reported between 2- 3 weeks in the various reporting platforms. Cyberlab, Cerner Millenium and/or by paper.

Results for genetic testing can take up to 6 months and are reported directly to the secondary care providers that requested these tests.
