We can perform a PCR test on anterior nares (nasal) swab. For your convenience, at-home swabbing options are available. This is an easy, fast and reliable method for Covid-19 testing. New variants of the coronavirus such as BA4 and BA5 are also detected with this test.

Possible reasons to test for Covid-19:

  1. You have complaints that fit Covid-19

The main complaints that often occur with COVID-19 are:

  • Cold symptoms (such as a cold, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat)
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Increase or fever
  • Sudden loss of smell and/or taste (without nasal congestion)

With these complaints, the Covid-19 PCR test can determine if you have corona or not.

  1. You have been in contact with someone who turned out to have Covid-19
  2. If you have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 and you want to know whether you have also contracted corona, it is advisable to only test if you start to have symptoms. You can test before you get symptoms, but then you run the risk that there is still an insufficient amount of virus present to demonstrate. A positive result in that case means that you are infected with the coronavirus, but a negative result can mean that you are false negative. False negative means that you are infected but that this is not yet demonstrable because there are still too few virus particles. Repeating the test after 5 days is then recommended.
  3. You must provide proof that you are not infected with corona

This can be the case, for example, if you want to travel or if your employer asks you to. Check the validity of a negative test result yourself. This is often only a few days.

Note: The date and time of registration of your sample is also the date and time stated on your medical certificate. Keep this in mind regarding the requirements regarding the validity of the certificate when traveling (72, 48 or 24 hours).
